Neighbors near the new UBS arena are frustrated with the way some fans have been treating their community.
People came out to the Floral Park Civic Association meeting Thursday to discuss the issues they have seen.
"People after the games and even before the games, you find people urinating on people's lawns," says Bob Barker, president of the Locustwood Civic Association. "Garbage is just thrown all over people's lawn."
Others also brought up concerns about public safety due to speeding in the streets.
Larry, Penner, retired president of the Federal Transit Association, says that the environmental impact statement for the arena is not being followed because they were adopted before the pandemic.
He also believes the prediction of Long Island Rail Road ridership to the area will fall flat, causing even more traffic concerns.
Residents are also concerned that some arena fans are trying to avoid traffic by parking in nearby neighborhoods and hopping fences to get to the facility.
