Lifeguards at a Freeport park say they weren?t told when the town installed a camera in the room where they change, but the mayor says no one?s supposed to be changing in there anyway.
The room in question at Martin Luther King Jr. Park contains lockers, but Freeport Village Mayor Andrew Hardwick says lifeguards put the lockers in there, turning it into a changing room without his permission.
Lifeguard supervisor Robert Eberhart says that?s not true, claiming the village gave him the key that opens his locker.
Hardwick says the cameras were put up about six weeks ago to cut down on crime and drug use and keep an eye on the security system equipment.
