Vaccine mandates, weekly testing expected to start as COVID-19 cases increase

Northwell, the state’s largest health care system also announced it is requiring employees to get vaccinated or get tested weekly, starting Aug. 16.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday that if COVID-19 positivity cases keep increasing, he will recommend mandatory testing of health care workers and teachers. 
Northwell, the state’s largest health care system also announced it is requiring employees to get vaccinated or get tested weekly, starting Aug. 16. 
In an email on Monday, employees were told that anyone not fully vaccinated will be required to get tested on a weekly basis. The email said if they don't, they could possibly get fired.
Stores like Home Depot, Target and McDonald’s are requiring their staff to wear masks.
