The issue of masks worn in schools was front and center at a school meeting in West Islip Thursday evening.

About 100 people were in attendance to discuss the controversial topic. 

 Some said face coverings should be a matter of personal choice, while others spoke in favor of mask wearing. 

The district has yet to decide on a mask mandate for the upcoming school year.
