Job Giuliani is accused of driving drunk when he crashed into a family of three, critically injuring an 11-year-old boy.
He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on a grand jury indictment, containing upgraded charges.
Vehicular Crimes Bureau Chief Michael Bushwack, with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, said Giuliani's blood alcohol concentration was 0.1 hours after the accident. The defendant also allegedly had marijuana in his system.
Charges include aggravated vehicular assault, DWI and driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of alcohol and a drug.
Prosecutors said around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, the defendant was leaving a party at a beach club. He made a right turn onto Beech Street in Atlantic Beach, drove on the wrong side of the road and crashed head-on into the vehicle with the 11-year-old boy, his mom and his dad.
Bushwack said the 11-year-old had "catastrophic life-altering injuries." He remains hospitalized.
