Two North Babylon High School students were hospitalized after drinking an unknown liquid in class.
Suffolk police don't believe the incident was an April Fools' Day prank, but may have been accidental. They say the kids drank water from a container that previously had paint inside it.
Students tell News 12 Long Island that two ambulances arrived at the school around 8:40 a.m.
The school said in a statement that the students were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital after they showed signs of high blood pressure and an elevated heart rate. A school district spokesperson told News 12 Long Island that administrators went to the hospital with the kids and contacted their parents.
School officials say that the children have been released from the hospital and are OK.
