A juvenile from Brooklyn is facing multiple criminal charges in connection with a Nassau County car theft incident.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the Town of Southeast after receiving a License Plate Reader alert regarding a stolen vehicle on Friday morning.
They located the car in a parking lot on Starr Ridge Road and attempted to stop the driver.
The driver backed into a snowbank and the vehicle came to a stop. Four male occupants then began to flee on foot.
The driver was apprehended following a brief pursuit, according to police.
One occupant was found hiding inside a nearby business. The remaining two suspects were discovered inside a gas station and taken into custody,
The charges against the driver include grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
Authorities say he was issued an appearance ticket before being released to his guardian along with the other suspects.
Police have not disclosed the charges against the other individuals involved.
