A Long Island Rail Road train heading east from Penn Station bumped into another eastbound train Thursday morning.
According to a LIRR spokesperson, the collision happened around 8:15 a.m. just east of Jamaica Station. A train from Penn to Babylon hit the train heading from Flatbush Avenue to Hempstead. Both trains were traveling slowly, the railroad said.
The incident caused a temporary service suspension and residual travel delays. Westbound service was not affected. The cause of the collision was under investigation.
