The Saint Peter's Peacocks pulled off another win in the NCAA tournament Friday with the help of two Long Islanders.
Twin brothers, Hassan and Fousseyni Drame, graduated from Our Savior New American School in Centereach, and now they both play for the first 15th seed ever to make it to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament.
The twins came to the United States from the African country of Mali seven years ago. Their host parents, Ron and Christina Semple, drove from Centereach to Philadelphia to attend the Peacocks' game against Purdue in person.
"We're so happy for them," the Semples said.
Their host parents and former high school basketball teammates say it's "surreal" and "amazing" to watch the Drame brothers play this far into the college basketball tournament.
The twins' host parents say they plan to have a big watch party at their house for St. Peters' next game.
