Police say three teens are facing several charges following a car pursuit in East Meadow.
Detectives say three Hempstead officers were standing on the sidewalk in front of 100 Terrace Ave. after 11 p.m. Saturday. They say the officers saw a car pass by them on the street and heard a gunshot. One officer says he saw the front passenger holding a handgun.
The three officers followed the car into East Meadow.
In surveillance video, the driver appears to hit multiple parked cars, toppling one of them, before coming to a stop.
Authorities say a 15-year-old male passenger in the car pointed a gun at the Hempstead officers. They say the weapon was recovered inside the car. No injuries were reported.
The 15-year-old passenger was charged with three counts of attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Authorities say a female 16-year-old and a male 17-year-old were also taken into custody. They were charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
All three teens will be arraigned on Sunday.
