Distracted driving crashes continue to kill and injure thousands

Part of the New York State Thruway will be closed Saturday between Ulster and Orange counties.

The southbound side of I-87 will be closed to traffic from Exit 18 in New Paltz to Exit 17 in Newburgh.

The shutdown will last for about 12 hours, starting at 8 a.m.

Crews plan to remove the rest of the Brookside Road overpass in New Paltz.
