Around $3.5 billion worth of building and investing will be happening in the Town of Islip over the coming years.
Some of those projects include an expansion of Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, an expansion of Jake's 58 Casino in Islandia and development of the Ronkonkoma train station and MacArthur Airport.
Under one proposal, a new airport terminal would be built near the train station to encourage people west of Ronkonkoma to use MacArthur for air travel.
Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter says she is relying on an infusion of money from the state and federal governments. She says the proposals will move forward as long as there is community support.
