The Town of Hempstead is getting a head start preparing for potential storms.
Town Supervisor Don Clavin says crews are already preparing salt trucks and plows.
"It's tricky because it can change in a moment. It can go from being 0-3 to 6-12. So we want to be prepared over the weekend and we're going to be fully operational during both storms this week," he says.
