A surf park is one step closer to becoming reality in Suffolk.
Brookhaven Town approved a site plan and special-use permit for the proposed facility last month.
The park would offer surfing, boogie boarding, and stand-up paddle boarding year-round off exit 68 on the Long Island Expressway.
The owners tell Newsday they plan to submit a building permit application this fall and expect construction to begin next year.
