Winds from Isaias thrash Long Island, but worst of storm is over

Winds gusts were down to 45-50 mph as of 5 p.m. with winds diminishing to 20-30 mph by 7 p.m. Just a breeze is expected overnight.
The coastal flood warning has been canceled, as the storm surge did not occur with this evening's high tide. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for all of Long Island, with only minor flooding possible into morning.

Isaias weakened to a tropical storm over eastern North Carolina as storm moves toward the tri-state area with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph, the National Hurricane Center says.
