Hundreds of Long Islanders are hitting the green Monday in honor of a late Islanders legend.
The Clark Gillies Foundation is hosting a golf and dinner fundraiser at the Crescent Club in Huntington to raise money for the organization.
Islanders alumnae and other hockey officials will be in attendance to help support the nonprofit, which aims to help children with physical, developmental and financial disabilities.
Gillies’ wife, Pam, spoke on his life and legacy.
"He loved this,” she said. “He was such a giving person, and he just loved when we made money, and he could give it away."
Foundation officials say they hope to raise over $500,000 at the benefit.
