Dressed as a conductor, North Babylon Assistant Superintendent of Schools Judith Marino read "The Polar Express" to students at William DeLuca Elementary School Wednesday.
The reading was also attended by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.
Marino told News 12 that the story teaches children to "believe and to enjoy the wonder of Christmas."
After the reading, the kindergarten students made gingerbread houses.
