Long Islanders came together at the Temple Beth Sholom for a Friends of the Israel Defense Forces pre-holiday concert.
Israeli soldiers helped kick off the holidays with their performance in Roslyn Heights on Dec. 13.
Their performance at Temple Beth Sholom is a rare occasion - normally, their role is to sing for fellow soldiers in Israel.
The commander of the group says it's a way to lift spirits - especially during times of war.
Before the concert wrapped up, one of the soldiers took the time to dedicate a song to the victims of terrorism and war.
The group was in the United States for five days. They also performed at North Shore Hebrew Academy and John F. Kennedy Elementary School.
