Freezing temperatures are creating dangerous icy roads after the storm.
News 12 Long Island's Kevin Vesey was out in Thunderbolt 12 to check out the road conditions in Huntington.
Residents worried that their flooded streets will now ice over.
"It's terrible - everybody's got places to go and people to see and can't get around," said Andy Upbin, of Island Park. "The bitter cold tomorrow is not going to be good."
Salt trucks were loading up and hitting the streets to prevent black ice on Huntington's hilly streets.
Highway Superintendent Andre Sorrentino urged drivers to be safe.
"Soon as it starts to get icy it doesn't matter how many wheel-drive you have, everything is going to slide," Sorrentino said. "I beg people, stay home if you can tonight."
If a street looks wet or shiny, drivers should slow down because it could be black ice.
