As well. And joining us on the phone now is Suffolk County executive Ed Romayne County executive Romaine. We have our first real kind of snowstorm in about two years and it's going to be tough getting to those secondary roads. But the primary roads, those expressways and parkways, they're doing just fine. The primary roads are, are in pretty good shape. The county roads, which is the major responsibility of Suffolk County, uh, is in pretty good shape. Some of them down to pavement. The DPW crews have done a great job and will continue to do a great job. We expect the precipitation to continue, uh, just past 10 o'clock as it converge from snow to speed the rain. Um, but we're ready. We have Sanders out. Uh, so we're addressing this and, uh, more or less, uh, just about every county road is possible without too much difficulty, Ed, as we get a change over later to some rain. Are you expecting this to get better or worse out on the roads as the day goes on, looking toward the afternoon? And when folks are driving home, I'm concerned about this drive home because I'm, I'm watching the temperature, uh, because if it drops to freezing a lot of that rain turns into black ice and we're concerned about that. That's why we have Sanders and, and, and, and uh, salt out there on the roads on chronic home areas that have been known, uh, when you have, uh, frozen, uh, roads. So we are addressing that problem. DPW has done an excellent job by compliments to the guys out there guys and gals out there that are San with our standards. Salt is in our plows. All right. County executive Romain. Said earlier in Nassau County under a winter weather advisory until later tonight. So joining us on the phone right now is County Executive Bruce Blakeman Bruce. We have our first measurable snow in about two years, which is kind of shocking and it looks like the roads are, are ok. At least in your county getting the snow off the roads, the salt and sand. Yeah, we had 87 trucks out all last night. They were plowing and salting and our main thoroughfares are all open. They're doing great. Uh Some of the side roads in the towns and the villages, it's going to take a little more time because uh there's small streets that uh actually take more time to plow, but we just want everybody to take it easy this morning. Uh It's going to be slippery if you don't have to go into work right away. You know, go in an hour later, the roads will be much better as the day goes on. We are going to get some more precipitation, but it's going to be mixed with rain. So we don't think there'll be a lot of accumulation, but there could be some freezing and some ice on the roads. So, just be careful wherever you drive or walk. We don't want any broken bones. Well, that is for sure, Bruce. And, you know, we've had so many instances of flooding recently over the past couple of weeks. Are there any concerns with flooding here? No, so far this morning, we're doing pretty good. Uh, we had a combination last week of high tide and very heavy winds that were blowing the water from the ocean and the sound inland and that created uh, flooding conditions along the shores, especially the south shore. So, uh, we don't see any heavy wind today, so we'll be in pretty good shape. All right. That's the good news. Part of the storm there. Bruce Blakeman County Executive for Nassau County.
