Many Long Islanders were still in the dark a day after Sunday's severe storms.
As of Monday night, there were scattered outages across Long Island, with more than 150 in Brookhaven. Several areas had less than 50.
At the height of the outages, more than 50,000 homes were without power at the same time, according to LIPA President and CEO Kevin Law. In total, more than 77,000 lost power throughout Sunday.Officials say the hardest-hit communities were Mastic Beach, Watermill and Westhampton Beach.Anyone who needs to contact LIPA can call their emergency line at 1-800-490-0075.
