The third time was a charm for Nassau police hunting for a burglar in Rockville Centre Monday.
Police say they caught 24-year-old David Chisholm, of Freeport, at the third home he attempted to rob in two hours. According to authorities, Chisholm made off with jewelry, cash and a cell phone from a home on Rockaway Avenue in Oceanside. Officials say he then hit a home in Rockville Centre, but fled when Karen Flynn came home before he could steal anything.
The crime wave ended at his third target, a home on Windsor Avenue in Rockville Centre. Police say a neighbor saw Chisholm enter the house through a window and dialed 911.
Chisholm is being charged with burglary, attempted burglary and criminal mischief.
