The Baldwin Union Free School District unveiled what is being called "The Learning Collaboratory."
The new space that once included a row of book stacks is now a place where students can work together and learn collectively.
The construction of the new space started during the pandemic and is now ready to be used.
"It certainly has the resources necessary in print and electronically, but the world of work is different, and we wanted a space in our high school that can simulate the future of their experience in the labor market," says Superintendent Dr. Shari Camhi.
Rooms now have comfortable and moveable seating along with video conferencing equipment.
Students can also write on the tables and the walls like whiteboards.
