Teens in Westbury spent the weekend working to crack the code.

A 48-hour code-a-thon was being held in Westbury. Teens came up with a conceptual business, and then worked to solve global problems through technology.

The students will be able to create a portfolio with their work to be used for college, future internships and job interviews.

Organizers say the goal is to get students to "think global while acting local.''

"We want them to think of the big picture, of what problems might need to be solved and what do they care about, and then they have to represent that problem in a website," says Laurie Carey.
