A Farmingdale teen who recently pleaded guilty in a street-racing crash that killed five of his friends has been arrested again.
Police say Cory Gloe, 19, was arrested Tuesday night on weapons charges after officers pulled over a car he was a passenger in for speeding in Farmingdale. Gloe was charged with possession of marijuana and a knife, both misdemeanors.
Last week, Gloe agreed to a plea deal in which he was given youthful offender status and promised just six months behind bars for the deadly crash on Conklin Street in May 2014.
At Wednesday's arraignment, Judge Joseph Gerardi asked Gloe from the bench: "Are you aware you may have invalidated your youthful offender status with this latest arrest?" Gloe did not respond.
The judge in the drag racing case had no comment on Murphy's latest arrest.
The Nassau District Attorney's Office says it never approved or recommended youthful offender status for Gloe, and it may seek the original sentence request of five to 15 years in prison on May 20.
