Forty-five teams from around the world are competing in the robotics competition held by FIRST Long Island.
They will be showcasing their designs during the two-day tournament at Hofstra University.
The robots will be evaluated by their performances -- such as retrieving and placing “game pieces” on designated locations, interacting with humans and racing back to their own charge stations.
