There could soon be more Uber and Lyft drivers on Long Island.
Long Island taxi regulators are predicting an increase in drivers now that there's a temporary cap on ride-hailing licenses in New York City.
On Tuesday, Mayor Bill de Blasio signed legislation for a 12 month freeze on the number of licenses.
The move will help the city's Taxi & Limousine Commission study the effects of the services on traffic and on the cab industry.
