Officials have announced a swimming ban at more than a dozen beaches in Nassau County today.
The County Health Department issued the advisory at 14 North Shore beaches, in case they are impacted by storm water runoff due to the heavy rainfall.
The beaches include Centre Island Sound in Bayville, Creek Club in Lattingtown, North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington and Tappen Beach in Glenwood Landing.
