A cozy coffee shop in Cold Spring Harbor serves more than just drinks – it creates a sense of community.
Sweetie Pies on Main, tucked inside a historic home, has been a local staple since opening in 2010. The family-owned shop is run by Judy Hogan, who has turned the space into a welcoming hub for both residents and visitors.
Known for its organic coffee and teas, Sweetie Pies also features baked goods sourced from local bakeries.
“We get the best of the best,” Hogan said.
The shop offers a variety of options, including vegan and gluten-free treats, along with both indoor and outdoor seating for customers looking to relax and connect.
The building itself adds to the charm. Dating back to 1840, it has served many purposes over the years.
When Hogan and her husband first opened the shop, she said the town was much quieter.
“Back in 2010, the town was a little sleepy, so my husband and I decided let’s have a coffee shop in town – and little did we know it would be here all these years later,” she said.
Today, the shop has become a lively destination, attracting a mix of loyal regulars and new visitors discovering it for the first time.
“The community is so supportive, the regulars are great, we have new tourists who come to town and they discover us, it’s fun!” Hogan said.
Customers say the shop feels like a second home.
“The staff is incredible. The food is delicious. Everyone knows your name here and they make you feel so warm,” said Tess Kaner, of Cold Spring Harbor.
For many, Sweetie Pies on Main is more than just a place to grab coffee. It’s a place to connect.
