Police continue to search for whoever left hate symbols etched into a slide at a children's playground in Wantagh.
Three of the symbols of hate were discovered Saturday night by a park-goer at the playground at Marina Park in Wantagh Park, police say.
The swastikas had been removed by Sunday afternoon.
Parkgoers were surprised to hear about the hateful vandalism in their community. Some surmised it was done by teens, but say the symbol is no laughing matter.
Police are calling the case a bias incident. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
