A suspected serial killer caught in Shirley was ordered held without bail as he challenged extradition to Texas Tuesday.
Paul Devoe, 43, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Shirley Monday following a cross-country manhunt. Police believe Devoe killed five people in Texas during two separate shootings before fatally shooting an elderly woman in Pennsylvania. According to police, the Pennsylvania woman's car led them to the suspect after it was found in a Shirley home's driveway.
Devoe was charged with being a fugitive from justice, which relates to Friday's killing of a bartender in Texas. Devoe's ex-girlfriend, her new boyfriend, her teenage daughter and another teenager were the other four victims, killed in a house near Austin, Texas.
Devoe is scheduled back in court Friday, August 31.
