The men accused in a robbery spree who prompted a massive manhunt in Valley Stream appeared in a Hempstead court Saturday for a bail hearing.
The judge ordered 20-year-old Brandon Alexander held without bail. James Gadson?s, 19, bail was set at $250,000. The prosecutor successfully argued that Alexander violated probation and cited prior felonies. The suspects face charges of robbery, criminal possession of weapons, and stolen property. Police say the Queens men robbed nearly 30 businesses in Nassau County and Queens at gunpoint in a monthlong crime spree.
Police spotted a stolen Jeep Friday matching the description of the vehicle used in the robberies. The four suspects in the Jeep fled the car, according to police. Gadson and Alexander were apprehended, but the other suspects remain at large.
