Suspect accused of firing gun in North Bellmore charged with criminal possession, reckless endangerment

Following the suspect's arrest, police found a switchblade knife in their possession. Officers also found a substance alleged to be crack cocaine.

The person accused of waving a gun on a North Bellmore intersection was arraigned at a hospital Thursday afternoon.
Kiber Calderon, who also identifies as Hanna Carillo, fired a handgun into the air and then pointed the weapon at their own head on Tuesday.
One officer used his patrol car to sideswipe Calderon. The suspect was knocked to the ground, with the weapon out of their hand, and police made the arrest.
Calderon was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, among a slew of other charges.
Following the arrest, police say they found a switchblade knife in Calderon's possession. Officers also found a substance alleged to be crack cocaine.
Prosecutors requested the suspect be held on $200,000 bail.
Calderon's next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 21.
