It's official: New Jerseyans are more obsessed with going to the gym than residents of any other state.
A study by the website fitnessvolt.com compared each state's Google search data for phrases like "gym near me" or "Pilates near me."
And guess what? New Jersey crushed it.
With the state ranking above second-place California (take that, Venice Beach!), New Jersey was declared the most "gym obsessed" state in the nation.
It's the latest in these state-by-state comparisons of digital data that are not exactly legitimate social science but that often do contain a kernel of truth.
And it's no surprise to the folk at Final Round Health and Fitness in Little Falls. On today's episode of “Brian's Positively New Jersey,” Brian visits the gym to talk with gymgoers young, old, and in between about the state's healthy obsession.
