A portion of Sunrise Highway has reopened after being shut down due to a serious crash.
Police say a man was driving eastbound this morning near Exit 57 on Horseblock Road in Yaphank when he crossed the median and slammed into a pole.
The unidentified driver was airlifted to the hospital.
There is no word on what caused the man to lose control of his vehicle.
