21ds agoWHAT'S NEW: All of the South Shore is now in a severe drought with the North
Shore upgraded to a moderate drought.
Water quality report map shows many
sites have improved since last week. There is still a potential fish kill with
poor water on the North Shore at Cold Spring Harbor and Northport Harbor.
Conditions in the Western Great South Bay have improved with fair to poor
conditions farther east due to warm water, potentially harmful bacteria and
algae.
WHAT'S NEXT: Warmer Friday with dry conditions through the weekend. We are
tracking scattered showers early next week from Monday into Wednesday morning,
but it looks like rain totals are coming down a little bit with most spots only
picking up .25" on average. This won't do much to combat the drought. No
other big rain makers on the way in the near future.

83. Slight chance of a passing shower at night. Lows near 68.
SUNDAY: Warm with sun and clouds.
Highs near 82. Lows near 68 with the chance of a few showers late at night.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a good
chance of scattered rain showers. Highs near 79. Chance of showers at night
with lows near 67.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy with the
chance of showers, mainly early in the day. Highs near 79. Lows near 78.
