News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says temperatures get back into the 50s Friday ahead of weekend without rain.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
-Another cold night on Long Island with temperatures falling into the 30s, some 20s are possible in Suffolk County.
-A great weekend is coming up with dry weather and warmer temperatures.
-The forecast for next week is trending drier. The best chance for rain next week will be late Wednesday into Thursday.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with patchy frost. Lows near 34 degrees with light southwest winds.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and not as cold. Nice with highs near 55 degrees. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with lows near 45. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
SATURDAY: SAM'S PICK OF THE WEEK. Mostly sunny and warmer with highs near 61. Lows near 47.
SUNDAY: Daylight Saving Time Ends. Mostly sunny and mild with highs near 62. Lows near 47.
MONDAY: Partly sunny with highs near 62. Lows near 50.
TUESDAY: Election Day. Mostly cloudy with highs near 63. Slight chance for a late day sprinkle or shower. Lows near 48.
