Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says cold mornings will lead to mild afternoons by the end of the week.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
-Chance for some minor coastal flooding on the South Shore of Nassau County at high tide Wednesday morning between 7 and 10am.
-Cold mornings and warming afternoons ahead. Daytime highs rise to near 60 degrees for Thursday and Friday.
-Dry weather through the end of the week with an offshore storm bringing showers to parts of Long Island Friday night into Saturday morning. Breezy, cooler, and drier weather follows for Sunday.
-Our weather pattern looks to turn a little active around Thanksgiving. I'm keeping my eye on the trends.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with areas of frost. Lows near 32 with light north winds. Sunrise: 6:39
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Highs near 52 with south southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Sunset: 4:34
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows near 39. Light westerly winds.
THURSDAY: SAM'S PICK OF THE WEEK! Sunny and warmer with highs near 59. Clear and chilly at night with lows near 44.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny with increasing clouds. Mild with highs near 62. Chance for a few showers Friday evening into Friday night. Lows near 47.
SATURDAY: Cloudy with the chance for showers in the morning, especially in Suffolk County. Partly sunny and breezy during the afternoon. Highs near 58. Clearing and turning colder at night with lows near 35.
SUNDAY: Breezy and chilly with sun and clouds. Highs near 50. Lows near 33.
