WEATHER TO WATCH: Temps to swiftly fall as wintry mix moves in Thursday evening
Following a day of record warmth, temperatures will drop dramatically Thursday with a wintry mix coming in by the evening.
Highs of 68 degrees were felt on Long Island Wednesday, but highs will only be in the upper 30s Thursday.
Snow and a wintry mix will start by Thursday evening. A total of 1 to 2 inches of slushy accumulation is expected by early Friday.
It will be a slick start to Friday with the wintry mix changing over to rain. Highs will be near 40 degrees.
The weekend will be cool with the slight chance of a flurry Sunday evening.
