Summer heat finally hits Long Island

Long Island residents basked in the sun Monday as temperatures soared into the 90s for the first time this summer season. Hundreds headed to Jones Beach to take advantage of the much-delayed summer weather.

Long Island residents basked in the sun Monday as temperatures soared into the 90s for the first time this summer season.
Hundreds headed to Jones Beach to take advantage of the much-delayed summer weather.
Kids at Kenwal Day Camp in Melville kept cool thanks to the fire department who hosed them down from head to toe.
Monday night should be cloudy and muggy with some storms and temperatures in the 70s.
