Donald Trump's plans for a luxury restaurant and catering hall at Jones Beach could get put on hold after a lawsuit was filed Thursday.
Activist Pat Friedman filed the suit in Mineola. She's seeking to postpone a Feb. 5 hearing in Westchester on the 1,000-square-foot boardwalk project.
"Our state park was not meant to be commercialized," Friedman says. She believes holding the hearing miles away on Super Tuesday is meant to stop opponents from voicing their concerns.
Trump is expected to present plans for a basement, which the state previously rejected. His attorney says the suit and postponements will end up costing money in the long run, saying the state wants the venue open by summer 2009.
There's no word on whether a judge has approved Friedman's request.
