Running 34.3 miles to honor the 343 FDNY members lost on 9/11

The 6th annual 34.3 For The 343 will take runners 34.3 miles from Long Beach to the 9/11 Memorial in Lower Manhattan on Friday, Sept. 11, marking the 25th anniversary of the attacks. The event honors the 343 FDNY members who died on 9/11.
The run starts at 8:47 a.m. from the Long Beach Boardwalk, following an opening ceremony and a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Runners are joined by active and retired FDNY members, volunteers, and an FDNY bike support team.
The 34.3 Foundation was started in 2021 by FDNY firefighter Etan Blatt. The group says it has provided more than $250,000 in support to FDNY members, families, and firehouses.
