Suffolk's 5-day streak of decreases in hospitalizations comes to an end

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone provided his Tuesday COVID-19 update.
- Bellone reiterates that he sent a letter to Treasury Sec. Steve Mnuchin in hopes of getting property tax relief.
- 28,701 total cases - 587 new cases in past 24 hours.
- Death toll reaches 888 - Bellone notes that 'increase is smaller than we've seen' with 29 new deaths.
- 5-day streak of dips in hospitalizations ends - +23 added hospitalizations.
- 741 beds available, 140 ICU beds available.
- 68 hospital discharges in last 24 hours.
- 2.5 million PPE distributed across Suffolk since crisis began.
- Bellone lauds Suffolk's 311 program during the crisis, applauds employees and legislators who have pitched in.
- Bellone gives credit to Suffolk police for helping stop crime during the pandemic.
