Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame honors site of game featuring Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig

The Suffolk County Sports Hall of Fame unveiled a historical marker to honor the site of a 1930 baseball game featuring Yankee greats Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.
The two players formed an exhibition team and played against a team of local All-Stars called the “Lindy Nine.”
Ruth and Gehrig’s team beat the Lindy Nine 10-4.
Gehrig drove in Ruth, with what turned out to be the game winning run.
