Republican lawmakers in Suffolk are calling on the state to reopen businesses.
In a letter to Albany, the group is demanding Gov. Andrew Cuomo immediately lift any executive order that prevents small businesses from operating.
They say, "Most of us know someone who has died as a direct result of COVID-19 infecting their body -- but what of those who are suffering with devastating economic hardship?"
The group is calling for a response within the week.
