Suffolk police say a man who was found unresponsive in a swimming pool early Sunday evening in West Islip has died.

They say it happened at a home on Graywood Court around 6 p.m.

Detectives say they received a 911 call about a family member finding 45-year-old Akinola Johnson unresponsive and pulling him out of the water.

The family began to perform CPR on Johnson until first responders arrived at the scene.

Johnson was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in critical condition but later died.
