Suffolk County police arrested a Selden man on Sunday, Feb. 2, for allegedly burglarizing 9 businesses on Long Island dating back to last year.
The alleged four-month crime spree started on Nov. 27, 2024, and ended following an arrest on Sunday.
Sixth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call for a burglary at a Subway at 668 Middle Country Road in Selden, just before 10 a.m. Sunday. Officers said the suspect smashed the front glass window and stole cash from the register and coins from a donation jar.
Within an hour, police arrested Michael Parise, 49, on Middle Country Road in Coram.
During the investigation, police linked Parise to a total of nine similar burglaries and one attempted burglary over the last four months.
Investigators said in each instance, Parise broke an exterior door or window and stole cash.
According to police, he is also charged with the following burglaries:
- Subway, located at 2350 Route 347, Stony Brook on November 27, 2024
- Ssambap Korean BBQ, located at 2350 Route 347, Stony Brook on December 16, 2024
- Orangetheory Fitness, located at 2306 Route 347, Stony Brook on December 24, 2024
- Hype Cut and Color Bar, located at 159 Terry Road, Smithtown on December 27, 2024
- Tainos Café and Lounge, located at 24 Middle Country Road, Coram on December 27, 2024
- Bagel Café of Stony Brook, located at 2310 Route 347, Stony Brook on January 5, 2025
- Kimochi Bubble Tea, located at 237 Middle Country Road, Selden on January 31
- Middle Country Animal Hospital, located at 644D Middle Country Road, Selden on February 2, 2025
Parise is facing nine counts of third degree burglary. Police also charged Parise with one count of attempted burglary for allegedly damaging a door at Peking Chinese Kitchen at 640 Middle Country Road in Selden but failing to get inside on Feb. 2.
Police also charged him with petit larceny for allegedly stealing money from a donation box at a McDonald's at 2324 Route 347 in Stony Brook on Dec. 26, 2024.
Suffolk County police said this wasn’t Parise’s first time running this type of scheme.
Law enforcement confirms Parise was arrested for a string of similar burglaries four years ago.
He was arrested on Feb. 16, 2021, for allegedly burglarizing 10 businesses between November 2020 and when he was arrested:

- Smoke Paradise, located at 2350 Route 347 in Stony Brook on January 11, 2021
- Iron Ramen, located at 2350 Route 347 in Stony Brook on January 11, 2021
- Hoshi Sushi, located at 1320 Stony Brook Road in Stony Brook from January 21 to January 22, 2021
- Red Tiger Dumpling House, located at 1320 Stony Brook Road in Stony Brook, on January 21, 2021
- Bambu, located at 2350 Route 347 in Stony Brook from January 10 to January 11, 2021
- LI Bagel Café, located at 2310 Route 347 in Stony Brook, on February 13, 2021
- Bambu, located at 2350 Route 347 in Stony Brook from February 14 to February 15, 2021
- Subway, located at 2350 Route 347 in Stony Brook, on February 16, 2021
Some of the businesses he allegedly targeted back then he targeted again during this most recent alleged spree.
Parise is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip later today.
