A drive-by Toys for Tots event helped spread holiday cheer in Suffolk.
The Suffolk County Legislature say requests for toy donations are up this year, and they wanted to make sure people could safely drop off toys to help meet the need.
They say the gifts will go to children in need identified by the Suffolk County Department of Social Services. Even though Christmas is just days away, they say it's never too late to get involved.
"People in need change every year. People who were not in need last year, this year is completely different, so they can get involved. There are many drop off locations, all sorts of organizations are participating," says Leg. Kevin McCaffrey, of Lindenhurst.
Toy drop-off bins can be found at the legislature's William H. Rogers Building and at all district offices.
