The acting Suffolk police commissioner has locked up the job on a permanent basis.
Tim Sini was approved by the Suffolk Legislature Tuesday evening. He will be sworn in as commissioner Wednesday.
Three lawmakers voted against his nomination. They were upset that Suffolk Executive Steve Bellone didn't conduct a nationwide search.
Sini, 35, is a former federal prosecutor and aide to the county executive. Sini was tapped to replace Commissioner Edward Webber after he retired in January.
