Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said Sunday that three more people have died from COVID-19 in the county, for a total of 12.

"It's heartbreaking to have to report those results," he said. "It does serve as a reminder to all of us, who all have a responsibility and a role to play, about why we're doing this and why it's important to listen to the guidance of health professionals."

There are at least 15,168 cases statewide in New York, including 1,900 in Nassau and 1,034 in Suffolk, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office.
